4 of us turned up for last nights movie "The Prestige". I must have read too many crime novels, cos all the twists were well telegraphed for me if not most of us. woohoo, I can't wait for this. I was getting pretty twitchety for the silver screen. I prolly haven't mentioned before but for around 7-8 years now, almost every week I see a film on Tuesday night. It's budget night at the main cinema chains, Monday for the independents.

Thanks to my annual bout of bronchtis as allergic response, I won't be at the movies tomorrow night. the coughing will have driven me mad by then, and I won't inflict it on the other patrons.

3 stalwarts appeared for this one, and we all enjoyed it.  I liked the grim reality ... not a prettified version.  And the goats (thereby proving my yokel streak is alive & well).

We've seen so many comedies in a row, that it was a refreshing change of tempo.

I enjoyed this much more than I expected.  BoyTown is an aussie comedy that takes the piss out of 80's boy bands.  Glenn Robbins possibly better known overseas as Kel from Kath n Kim; and who also played Pete O'May (Janie O'May's ex husband) in Lantana.

I loved and adored this film.  It's the best.  It's been a very long time since I sat through a film and the audience clapped at the credits.  a gazillion happy snaps for this work of genius.    I laughed so long that I cleared my lungs, and couldn't breathe.  Even Ripley who's been going to Tuesday night movies way before I did laughed aloud more ( Read more... )
